“It’s Met Gala time, also known as the most discussed, debated and otherwise dissected red carpet of the year,” The Times Style section writes.
The annual event, hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, raises money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. This year it celebrated the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which examines Black dandies, bespoke suiting and the Black men who so often set the standard of what it means to be stylish.
The show marked a first for the Costume Institute, in that it focused on designers of color and was the first in two decades dedicated to men’s wear.
But the interpretation of the theme was up for grabs, as you can see in this roundup of looks. Check it out, and then tell us: Which outfits were you most and least impressed by? Why? What would you have worn to the party if you were invited?
